When fire ants are gathered into a group, they act like a fluid, as depicted above in a scene, arranged by the researchers, that could be called either whimsical or the stuff of nightmares.

There are some flowers honeybees have trouble pollinating because they are adapted to being buzzed, and honeybees can’t do the bumblebee’s trick!
That’s okay though, my little honeybees have their own talents.

Ugh, whatever. 9 m 6;;; Anywho, first of the monstergirls; she’s a firefly. Her kingdom is currently at war—a civil war or a war with another kingdom, I’m not sure—and she’s had to run away. She’s currently in hiding, but she will return soon for like a triumphant victory or something, idk.

UNDERCOVER FOR UNIQLO’S FALL/WINTER ‘12 “UU” FINAL CAMPAIGN
Designer Jun Takahashi was able to bring his UNDERCOVER brand to a much lower pricepoint by collaborating with massive retailer Uniqlo, so it only makes sense that they would do one more collection!
Drawing on Takahashi’s post-modern UNDERCOVER design tendencies, this Uniqlo collaboration (featuring insane images of giant insects playing instruments) will feature a full range of contemporary garments utilizing and mixing top-notch Uniqlo performance technology and fabrics; the pieces will feature Heat Tech and Ultra Light Down, among other signature Uniqlo innovations. We’re into it!
love the bugs!

Orchid Mantis (Hymenopus coronatus) - Malaysia
From Wikipedia:
This species is characterized by brilliant and beautiful coloring and unusual structure; their four walking legs resemble flower petals, and the coloration of the bodies tends to match the environment in which they were raised. H. coronatus shows some of the most pronounced sexual dimorphism of any species of mantis; the males are generally less than half the size of the females. Young nymphs resemble ants with orange and black bodies. As the mantis grows in its environment, its color comes to more closely match the coloration of its surroundings with each passing molt. It has been theorized that humidity and intensity of light play a large role in the final coloration of the adult.
