H.P. is an eccentric and finicky 9th grader and no one really knows why he came to Bloomsberg Academy in the first place seeing as he freaks out at half the people and things there. 

He literally has pretty much no friends in his grade level; he just tags along with the upperclassmen in Poe’s clique because Poe is his favorite obvs. 

Poe just kinds of puts up with him and eventually grows to like him and watch out for him. (H.P. is small and strange and reactionary, thus is kind of an easy target for getting picked on.) 

also if you haven’t been reading his lines with the voice of Edgar from Frankenweenie I suggest you do so.
